Ancillary Areas:

Creating An Environment

One of my first projects with ZPD+A. As well as following the project through it’s CD set, my main focus was on the material applications and ancillary items. Interior Investments was a 3rd party furniture company brought in to narrow down furniture selections. Because this project was adaptive reuse, It was important for me to select textiles that were sustainable and durable. Creating a color palette that could flow throughout multiple spaces was important due to sheer size of the building. Tones of blue liven up the environment through patterning or graphics causing movement and visual stimulation.

Acoustical color Palette test:

The Ups, Downs, and All Arounds

Besides tying in the furniture, acoustical solutions, paints, floor patterning, and space planing were key design elements in order to create a space pleasing to the eye. Coordination between lighting (electrical), fire, HVAC, and ceiling height changes were vital in creating a design that would be uninterrupted by the contractor.
